About Hewitt House Bed & Breakfast
The Hewitt House Bed & Breakfast is owned and operated by Harold and Rhonda who reside in the main house with their beloved English bulldog, Molly.  Gaby a boxer-mix, and a pair of dewlap Toulouse geese - Lord Bramwell and Lady Jane, together with Molly act as guardians of the property.

The Hewitt House was built in 1914 and was the last of the coal-baron mansions to be built in Bramwell.  Katharine Reedy Hewitt and her husband Colonel John D. Hewitt Sr., owned and operated the Buckeye Coal and Coke Company.  Mrs. Hewitt built the house after the death of her husband.

The main house has Indiana oak floors have double-bands of cherry inlaid around the the edges of each room and the living room has judges oak paneling and a coffered ceiling.  The light fixtures in each room have a 'security system' that Mrs. Hewitt had specifically made.  The glass panels on the roof provide light that shines through a skylight over the staircase.  The conservatory is a bright sunny room off the living room filled with plants and flowers.  The butler's pantry joins the kitchen to the large dining room that has the original furniture of Mrs. Hewitt, and off the dining room is a private dining porch.

The carriage house was formerly the residence of Mrs. Hewitt's butler and maid. The winding staircase leads to the cozy quarters upstairs and the bathroom has the original claw foot tub.  The bedroom has a queen-size bed and the living room has a daybed with a trundle.  Amenities include a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot water heater, and toaster for the convenience of our guests.  Continental breakfast is provided in the room.  Special dietary requests at the time of reservations are welcome.

The Hewitt House Bed & Breakfast is situated within a mile from the entrance of the famous Hatfield and McCoy ATV trail (www.trailsheaven.com) and within walking distance to the headquarters.
